Scores
of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters Friday gathered in front the
residence of the party’s flagbearer, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, in
Nima, Accra.
The supporters said they were at the residence to protect it from being raided by security agencies, Graphic Online understands.
They
claimed they had information indicating that the Police and Bureau of
National Investigations (BNI) were planning to raid the house.
Some
of cited what they said was the raiding of think tank Danquah Institute
by BNI late Thursday and vowed not to leave until their party leader
told them to, according to a report by citifmonline.
Nana Addo is
currently in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region and will move to Kwahu
in the Eastern Region over the Easter weekend. He is expected to return
to Accra on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the BNI has denied raiding the Danquah Institute. |
